Materials:

Hook - Mustard 34007 or S71S-SS #6 - 2
Thread - Fl. Shell Pink Flat Wax Nylon
Eyes - Silver bead chain, large
Tail - Pearl mylar tubing (small)
Body - Pearl Diamond Braid
Wing - Light gold Craft Fur or Fly Fur; or shrimp PolarFibre
Topping - Pearl (9) Krystalflash


Tying Instructions:

Step 1 –

Bead chain eyes are to be tied in one hook eye length behind the eye of the hook.

Step 2 –

Tied in along the entire shank length from behind the bead chain eyes. The tail length is the same length as the gap of the hook. Return thread to behind eyes. Cut the tail to length as required (gape of the hook).

Step 3 –

Over wrap the diamond braid with thread from behind the bead chain eye to a point just over the hook barb, return the thread to in front of the eyes. Wind the diamond braid evenly back to the bead chain eye and figure eight over eyes over the bead chain under the hook and over the bead chain. Finish on the bottom of the hook, tie off and trim diamond braid. Turn hook upside down in vice so that the hook point rides up.

Step 4 –

Tie a sparse bunch of craft fur in front of the bead chain eyes so it extends past the hook point and is the same length but no shorter/longer than the length than the tail.

Step 5 –

Use three to four strands of Krystalflash doubled over. Tie the topping on top of the head and the same length as the wing.

Step 6 –

Small neatly tapered head of tying thread in front of eyes. Whip finish and trim thread. Head should be the same length as the hook eye diameter. Fray tail carefully by twisting in fingers.
