Dear [FIRSTNAME] What happened to the tuna season?
Australia’s eastern coast line has received a hammering this year with extreme weather events being a very regular occurrence. Gavin compiled this report giving his thoughts about the tuna migration, what actually happened out there and what it means for the future.

Fly Fishing in a Remote Island Paradise
Gavin sure does have the life. He is guiding for two weeks on Mantaray - fly fishing the western side of Cape York just north of Weipa. And as if that is not enough…
He then goes and organises two weeks in August on a little remote island paradise in the Western Province of the Solomon Islands…
This region is largely uncharted as far as fly fishing goes – while there has consistently been sport fisherman over the years, there have not been too many fly anglers travel to this part of the world. But the ones who have been there have come back with very interesting tales of giant trevally, monster yellowfin tuna, dogtooth tuna, wahoo, mackerel, bonefish and coral trout in the saltwater… jungle perch, big mangrove jacks, and spottail bass that will bust you off on 60lb tippet in the freshwater…
If you are up for a bit of fun and adventure in a new location then check out the two trips that we are hosting in August 2009.
Each group is limited to six anglers per trip (non-fishing companions are very welcome) and accompanied by an Australian fly fishing guide to oversee operations.
There are two anglers per boat - each boat with its own local fishing guide.
